It is used in adults to manage neuropathic pain, certain forms of epilepsy and anxiety disorders. Neuropathic pain (also known as nerve pain) is a long-lasting pain caused due to damaged nerve fibres present in the body. It is characterized by hot, burning, sharp, shooting, throbbing, or stabbing pain sensations with tingling or numbness of body parts. It may also cause mood changes, sleep disturbances and tiredness when nerve fibres supplying the brain are damaged.
